Dear Customer:

In an effort to continue providing you with the highest quality parts, we are offering the enclosed information regarding the care and handling of Polycarbonate and Acrylic materials which are used in some of our products. Please note that Polycarbonate is commonly referred to by manufacturers' trade names such as LEXAN, HYZOD, MAKROLON and TUFFAK.

Some customers are experiencing cracking, shattering and/or crazing of these materials on the production line and in the field. Thus, we are often asked to replace these items under warranty. Metal Moulding Corporation will only replace parts which are damaged at the time of receipt or prior to installation and/or parts that fail due to defects in workmanship.

Metal Moulding Corporation WILL NOT replace parts made of these materials that have been misused (improper installation, slammed doors, etc.) or have been in contact with any chemicals that are listed on the enclosed literature as "limited resistance" or "not resistant" or "dissolved by". Please review these lists carefully and note that some very common boat building and household cleaning materials are NOT TO BE USED (such as ACETONE, window cleaner w/ AMMONIA, some ALCOHOLS and adhesive removers, etc.).

Please be aware that Polycarbonate materials WILL NOT BREAK, SHATTER OR CRAZE unless they are exposed to any of the chemicals listed. Metal Moulding Corporation will not warranty cracked, shattered or crazed Polycarbonate.

Acrylic materials, though not as tough as Polycarbonate, will also withstand "Normal" use without cracking. Abuse or chemical exposure of this material will void all warranty of the affected part by Metal Moulding Corporation.

It is highly recommended that you familiarize your employees (especially installation and cleaning crews) about the proper care of these materials. Also, Metal Moulding Corporation suggests you include a copy of the enclosed literature (or equivalent correspondence) with each vessel’s owner’s manual. This would serve to inform the end user of proper care and help to minimize warranty situations.

If you have any questions or would like to request additional copies, please contact Metal Moulding Corporation.
